About Nala Feminist Collective
Nala Feminist Collective is a Pan-African group of 17 feminists with a mission to foster, enable and mobilize young women from Africa and the Diaspora. NalaFEM is guided by the Africa Young Women Beijing+25 Manifeo targeting political, digital and offline spaces. NalaFEM is convened by Afresist.
Duties and responsibilities
- Process payments, reimbursement and documents such as invoices, vouchers and statements
- Review field or project funding requests and initiates funds transfers
- Track payments to internal and external stakeholders
- Verify items billed against items ordered and received and reconcile differences
- Prepare bank reconciliation statements including other accounts operated in the organization
- Reconcile balance sheets accounts (advances, accruals, prepayments, deposits) and resolve reconciling items on a monthly basis
- Enter, update, and/or retrieve accounting data from accounting systems in place
- Prepare payments and ensure that the supporting documentation is in place
- Prepare monthly Cash flow Projections
- Ensure expenses evidence is scanned and filed appropriately
- Produce error-free monthly reports and present their results to the Nala leadershipÂ
- Process tax payments and returns
- Receive payroll-related data from HR, review the data for accuracy, and initiate corrections and process payroll monthly
- Provide technical support and advice on the management of funds
- Develop and document business processes and finance policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Quarterly re-forecast of NalaFEM’s budgets
- Participate in project budget modifications
- Grants portfolio management
- Conduct capacity building for partners on donor requirements
- Review of partner’s liquidation reports and request for funds
- Handle the registration process of NalaFEMÂ
- Advise during proposal writing for grants projects and be responsible for financial reports to donors
- Handle audits by ensuring sampled documents are availed to auditors
- Comply with all country protocols set by the Government including legal requirements, and interpret new and existing legislation
- Logistics lead on bookings for staff flights, accommodation, transport and other relatedÂ
- Any other duty that will be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related course
- CPA or any other professional qualification in accounting
- Minimum of three years of working experience preferably in an INGO
- Thorough knowledge of finance processes, systems, and principles
- Well-versed in computerized accounting applications
- Exceptional analytical, planning, management, and coordination skills
- Strong ability to manage time and meet established deadlines, deliverables and milestones
- Identification with NalaFEM vision and mission
- Flexibility and capacity to collaborate across teams
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), French is an advantageÂ
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to write and produce documents under tight deadlines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the point of contact among executives, employees, and other external partners
- Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage the calendars and set up meetings
- Coordinate and take minutes during meetings
- Screen and direct phone calls and distribute correspondence
- Oversee the scheduling and follows ups of day to day operationsÂ
- Use NalaFEM tools (Slack, Asana, etc.)Â
- Make travel arrangements and logisticsÂ
- Submit daily and monthly reports as required.
- Provide general administrative support, maintain database etc.
- Any other task relevant to the expected deliverables Â
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSÂ
- Proven experience as a an executive assistant or similar executive role
- Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
- Outstanding organizational, time and administrative skills
- Strong writing and reporting skillsÂ
- Understanding of digital platforms and familiarity with remote working, including adaptability with different Time Zones
- High integrity, strong result orientation and drive for excellence.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Strong communication in English and French and Arabic are strong bonus
